Types of Sedation

This type of who is usually administered orally. You could feel very sleepy during the procedure but you will remain awake and you can breathe on your own while feeling relaxed. Moderate sedation is used when a person has a moderate fear of the dentist or twin a more complex dental procedure is going to be used. It will take several hours for this type of sedation to wear off once the procedure is over.
During a deep sedation, a patient may move between consciousness and unconsciousness when they are having their dental procedure done. The person will have no recollection that they had to dental surgery done. You will need someone with you at the dentist office to drive you home because you won’t be able to drive home after deep sedation. It will take several hours before this wears off.
Nitric oxide or laughing gas is used for dental sedation. This is used for mild as well as moderate anxiety. You will have a quick recovery and you’ll be able to resume normal activities soon after. Another technique for dental sedation is oral sedation. You are given a pill and you take this an hour before your dental appointment. Once you arrive at the dental office you will be relaxed enough for the procedure to take place.
